Privacy Policy
Last updated 2026-08-22.
The short version
We don't require an account, we don't ask for your name or email, and we don't store the addresses you look up.
Addresses you enter
When you check a roof, the address is sent to our server, which forwards it to Google's Geocoding and Solar APIs to retrieve rooftop data. We do not write it to a database and we do not retain it after your request completes. Google processes it under its own privacy policy.
Server logs
Our hosting provider (Google Cloud) records standard request logs including IP address, timestamp and user agent. We use these only to detect abuse and to keep costs under control. They are retained for 30 days.
Advertising
This site is supported by advertising. Advertising partners, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised Google advertising at google.com/settings/ads, and opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info/choices.
We ask for your consent before any advertising or analytics cookie is set — everywhere, not just where the law demands it. Decline and none are set at all; the site works identically. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page.
Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie, so declining genuinely leaves you with no cookies from us.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are useful. It is cookieless by design: it sets no cookies, writes nothing to your browser's storage, does not fingerprint your device, and creates no identifier that could follow you to another site or be tied back to you.
Because it stores nothing on your device and cannot identify you, it runs for every visitor rather than sitting behind the consent banner. We think that is the honest trade: gating it would cost us the ability to see which pages actually help people, while giving up no privacy in return. It collects page URL, referrer, country, browser and device type in aggregate — nothing more.
Your rights
Because we don't hold personal data tied to you, there is generally nothing to access, correct or delete. If you believe we hold something about you, contact us and we'll look into it.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We'll update the date at the top of this page whenever this policy changes.
